Vegfest Scotland welcomes small businesses

Vegfest Scotland welcomes small businesses

2015-04-08
| by Editor

Our brand-new vegan consumer show Vegfest Scotland at the SECC planned for December 5th 6th 2015 is welcoming ethical small businesses and charities from across Scotland to come and exhibit in front of an anticipated 10,000 visitors. Over 100 vegan and vegetarian businesses, charities, producers, shops and organisations will already be booking in when the show website goes live on May 11th, but the door is open for all ethical businesses and organisations too, especially from the renewable energy sector and environmentally friendly, fairtrade, organic, sustainable and recycling trades.

With 2 day 2m x 2m stall prices starting from just £95 vat for small charities, and from £195 vat for small traders, our show represents incredibly good value for new businesses especially, and unlike many corporate shows, we welcome the small trader. We are essentially a small family business ourselves, and with 13 years’ experience of organising some of Europe’s biggest vegan events, we know all about the challenges that ethical businesses especially face in getting established and then growing. Vegfest Scotland is a unique opportunity to touch base with ethically minded people and we expect a big take up on stall space.

We are thrilled too to be working at such a high-profile and prestigious venue as the SECC, and look forward to many years of successful events. We are in a growth market, and post-recession its good news all round for anyone trying to build an ethical, sustainable and above all vegan business or organisation. About time, too.

The inaugural Vegfest Scotland includes a number of exciting features on top of the exhibition by over 100 businesses and charities, with the aim of getting healthy eating and vegan activism high on the agenda for many. They include: a Health Summit on the Saturday, an Activists Summit on the Sunday, and dozens of talks on Nutrition, Health, Lifestyle and Campaigns, on top of in-house Levy's Restaurant serving an all-vegan menu plus 12 other specialist caterers, a Hemp Expo focusing on the industrial and medicinal benefits of hemp, vegan information display areas, vegan cookery demos, kids cookery classes, family entertainment, live music, comedy and more. The show website will be live for stall applications from early May 2015.

This 2 day vegan food fest is also part of a brand-new Glasgow-based venture The Only Way is Ethics comprising an eight day festival exploring, promoting and celebrating ethical choices affecting all aspects of living. The Only Way is Ethics sees a number of events around Glasgow City Centre flourish in the week preceding Vegfest, and already there's been a lot of interest from a wide range of organisations and individuals looking to get involved – Vegfest Scotland’s joint venture with The Only Way is Ethics was covered by BBC News Scotland on the day we announced our dates!

Admission for the public to Vegfest Scotland is by advance tickets as well as payment on the gate. Advance tickets are £5 a day and £8 for the whole weekend. These tickets will go on sale from August 2015. Tickets on the gate are £8 for adults and £4 for claimants. Kids under 16 can enter for free.

Also check out our 3 other big shows in Brighton (March 28th 29th), Bristol (May 23rd 24th) and London (October 10th 11th) this year. Stay tuned to the Vegfest Express here for all the latest vegan news around the globe.
