Glorious conclusion for VegfestUK Bristol with 14,000 visitors over Bank Holiday Weekend May 23rd 24th

Glorious conclusion for VegfestUK Bristol with 14,000 visitors over Bank Holiday Weekend May 23rd 24th

| by Editor

Bristolians were treated to an amazing Bank Holiday Weekend down on the Harbourside, with one of Europe's biggest vegan food and lifestyle events VegfestUK descending upon the Amphitheatre. A grand total of 14,000 visitors were treated to a feast of superb vegan food and education during the day followed by headline DJ's Alfredo and LTJ Bukem in the evenings.

Alfredo topped the bill for a house party on Saturday evening and he was joined by a number of guest DJ's including idiotech, DJ Luminous and VegfestUK's very own Wonderpig.

Sunday evening saw a reggae sunsplash ignited by Ian Silk and Flexi D, followed by LTJ Bukem's very own style of drum-and-bass creating a wonderland for electronic dance music fans in Bristol.

Foodies also enjoyed an unbelievable array of sumptuous vegan food from 15 street food caterers alongside 4 licensed bars and juice/smoothie bars.

Vegan education was the central theme for the daytime events on both days, with a brand-new series of Vegan Activists Workshops providing visitors with the tools for effectively influencing those around them on their dietary choices.

These workshops came on top of a number of talks, cookery demoskids activities along with 150 stalls of merchandise and information, which demonstrated the benefits of a vegan lifestyle for all.

On top of these, Wonderpig had a great time with his turntable and displaying a selection of posters with ‘Go Vegan’ messages on Saturday, and making collections for USA-based charity A Well-Fed World.

Having Alfredo and LTJ Bukem at a big vegan event like ours was such a treat on the event's 13th year of existence. As we’ve shown, vegans do know how to throw together a glorious and uplifting party on top of educating the masses with food and information.

In the meantime, a lot of thought was put into the daytime vegan food and education side of the show, and it is our sincere hope that visitors gained a lot out of our talks, cookery demos and workshops, and seriously think about their dietary choices and their impact on animals, the environment, food production and health after the event.

Vegfest now moves onto London Olympia (Central Hall Levels 1 & 3) on October 10th 11th and the SECC (Hall 3) in Glasgow on December 5th 6th. Visit for full details of these two blockbuster events. Also stay tuned to the Vegfest Express right here for all breaking vegan news worldwide.
