Vegan Culinary Delights galore at Cookery Demonstrations at VegfestUK Bristol

One of the major challenges for any newbie vegan is to make vegan foods exciting and stimulating, not just for a day or two or a fortnight, but for the long term. However, for the workaholics in the 21st century, it’s not always easy to find time to nourish our body, mind and soul in a culinary sense, let alone working with unfamiliar food ingredients whilst switching diets.

At VegfestUK Bristol we’re bringing you a selection of simple, easy-to-follow cookery demonstrations that will not only leave you drooling over the prospect of eating vegan in the forseeable future, but also itching to create your own vegan dishes in no time to impress any of your pre-vegan friends, families and colleagues!

For the beginners

Beginners to the vegan lifestyle will find plenty of inspirations from these cookery demos:

Quick and Easy Summer Dishes from the Viva! Cookbook, by Jane Easton (Viva!) on Saturday at 2pm

Viva!'s food and cookery coordinator Jane Easton will demonstrate some of her favourite recipes from her own and brand-new Viva! cookbook:

  • Easy Vegan Pesto: regular and low-fat versions
  • Chilled Avocado Soup
  • Tropical Rice Salad with Sesame Orange Dressing

‘Flippin’ Marvellous!’ - Sweet and Savoury Filled Vegan Pancakes, by hunkimori on Saturday at 12pm

There’s absolutely no need for eggs when it comes to making delicious sweet and savoury filled pancakes! Pop along and discover how. Chelle Hughes from Bristol vegan dining pop-up hunkimori will demonstrate how to make an all purpose vegan pancake batter mix, whipping up a mixture of sweet and savoury fillings and toppings to create pancakes which tickle the taste buds and fill your boots!

For those looking for the quick and easy

Those with insatiable cravings for convenience foods can look forward to simple, easy-to-prepare dishes with a gentle health kick from these sessions:
