Vegan Athletes for Peace charity bike ride starts on Friday June 26th

Vegan Athletes for Peace charity bike ride starts on Friday June 26th

2015-06-24
| by Editor | Posted in Vlog

Former Everton FC and Swansea City FC footballer Neil Robinson, also the world’s first vegan to play professional football, organises a charity bike ride “Vegan Athletes for Peace” which starts on Friday June 26th 2015, riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats in just 9 DAYS, in order to raise awareness of the benefits of the vegan lifestyle as well as raising money for a number of vegan charities along the way.

Here’s a short video about the ride that was recently aired on the official TV station of Neil’s boyhood football club Everton FC:

The Vegan Athletes for Peace team consist of Neil’s fellow retired professional football player Dean Howell – who used to play for Crawley Town FC and Fleetwood Town FC amongst other football clubs as well as running his own vegan superfoods company Revolution Foods – alongside vegan rock climber and cyclist Tris West. These guys have certainly been training hard for this arduous course and they’re raring to go and show the country and arguably the world of athletes how fit and strong vegans really are and that we don’t need animal products to thrive in sports.

According to organiser Neil Robinson, the Vegan Athletes for Peace ride aims to:

  • Raise funds for various charities linked to Environmental Sustainability, Veganism, Peace, & Hunger
  • Raise awareness of the peace-giving vegan lifestyle
  • Help all sentient creatures on planet earth, both human and non-human, to live a long, joyful and peaceful life, free from the fear of slaughter, violence, abuse, exploitation, and exclusion

The Vegan Athletes for Peace cycle ride is fundraising for the following wonderful charities:

You can donate to these nominated charities right here.

Neil, Dean and Tris would really appreciate your support for them too by donating to them right here.
