Calling all Vegans in Scotland - let's get Edinburgh Vegan Festival and Vegfest Scotland off to a flyer!

Calling all Vegans in Scotland - let's get Edinburgh Vegan Festival and Vegfest Scotland off to a flyer!

| by Editor | Posted in Vlog

Vegans in the UK, especially those based up north – now’s the chance to get Scotland well and truly onto the worldwide vegan radar, with two exciting first-year vegan festivals run by two highly achieving independent firms coming up in Edinburgh and Glasgow!

The Edinburgh Vegan Festival comes to Edinburgh city centre on Saturday August 8th at the Roxburghe Hotel. Run by Louise Pinchen, committed vegan and business student at the University of Newcastle, The EVF is Edinburgh’s first-ever vegan festival of this size and welcomes 80 stallholders and an expected 2,000 visitors to a full day of vegan treats. The event is set to draw not only committed vegans and veggies, but very likely Edinburgh Fringe goers who’re interested in healthy living and compassionate lifestyles. Louise also organised the Newcastle Vegan Festival earlier this year drawing plenty of thanks and positive feedback afterwards, so expect more of the same at her Edinburgh show. Below is a short promotional video by vlogger Mark James for both Newcastle and Edinburgh Vegan Festivals this year:

Then just before Christmas, we have Europe’s biggest vegan festival Vegfest coming to the SECC in Glasgow on December 5th 6th. Already shaping up to be a blockbuster with numerous mentions in the media as well as a host of special guests lined up and around 70 stalls booked, this new edition of Vegfest is set to draw altogether 140 exhibitors and approximately 10,000 visitors over the whole weekend jam-packed with food, education, entertainment and socialising. Vegfest Scotland is perfect timing for you to do your pre-Christmas vegan shopping as well as gaining tips for any vegan resolutions with New Year just on the horizon.

With not only 1 but 2 vegan events in Scotland this year, vegans up north have never had it so good! Both events are run by independent family firms instead of corporate organisations so grassroots support is vital to the success of both shows. We need your help in massively spreading the word to everyone you know who’s into plant-based diets, vegan lifestyles, healthy living, etc. With your help, veganism could well and truly take off in Scotland in unimaginable ways:

  • Vegan festivals are fantastic places for vegans to make acquaintances and share ideas on topics such as activism, health, recipe ideas, etc.., and potentially create a new generation of vegan promoters
  • Vegan festivals are havens for vegans and would-be vegans to get together and provide social support for each other in staying vegan
  • These events provide a platform for vegan-friendly businesses to get to know new customers face to face, and the more newbies they get the more they’ll expand their repertoire of vegan products
  • Local vegan-friendly businesses (e.g. restaurants, bars, cafes etc.) also attract huge amounts of people who visit the events at the same time

Here’re some ideas for promoting The Edinburgh Vegan Festival and Vegfest Scotland:

The list here is of course not exhaustive – the more promotion these festivals get, the better it is for everyone!
