VegfestUK - price rises for Brighton and Bristol 2016

VegfestUK - price rises for Brighton and Bristol 2016

| by Editor

Reluctantly, VegfestUK is raising some of its prices for Brighton and Bristol 2016.
Good news is that we are promising not to raise prices for Brighton and Bristol again for at least 3 years.

Prices are rising for these reasons
1)      The costs of the Brighton Centre has risen by 55%. This is due to the need for both a Friday Set up and a Monday breakdown due to high level of rubbish and cooking smells created by the show. A lot of Extra staff are also required for this event, due to large numbers. Although never welcome, we have seen a full breakdown of these price increases and they are actually fair, although they may not seem that way. We want to underline that the venue (The Brighton Centre) is NOT cashing in on our success, but covering the extra costs incurred by the success of the event

2)      Tim Barford, manager, is now drawing a salary after 12 years as an unpaid volunteer.

3)      Costs from many contractors have risen over the last few years, especially post recession.

4)      VegfestUK no longer has a shared office and communications

5)      We are having to employ more people to maintain the growth and high standards that we have set.

Brighton 2016

So for 2016, 2017 and 2018, the door price for Brighton will rise from £5 to £7 for an advance ticket, from £8 to £10 for an advance weekend ticket, and from £8 to £10 for a day ticket on the door (£5 concessions). BOGOF’s and BOGOHP’s  for advance tickets will remain in place. Stall prices will rise by £25 plus vat a day for a 2m x 2m stall for traders. But Charities and Campaigners will not see a price rise.

Bristol 2016

Door prices for Bristol for the next 3 years minimum will be £5 advance day ticket, £8 advance weekend ticket, £8 day ticket on door (£4 concessions). BOGOF’s and BOGOHP’s  for advance tickets will be in place. Stall prices will rise by £25 plus vat a day for a 2m x 2m stall for traders. But Charities and Campaigners will not see a price rise.

We appreciate no one likes to see price rises. But they are essential for a sustainable growth.
We continue to support a number of vegan campaigners with free stalls and promotion, and we continue to sponsor and promote a number of UK vegan events.
Hope you will continue to support Vegfest!!
