Mature Zones for Seniors at Vegfest London & Scotland

Mature Zones for Seniors at Vegfest London & Scotland

| by Editor

One of the valuable suggestions we’ve got from previous Vegfest’s is the introduction of more seating for an enhanced visitors experience especially for seniors. As Vegfest grows ever bigger with a minimum of 10,000 visitors at each show, there’s a growing need for all our visitors to be able to thoroughly enjoy their time at our events without feeling the effects of overcrowding.

In response to this, we’re incorporating a Mature Zone at each of our next 2 shows at London and Scotland where people can enjoy vegan refreshments alongside an attractive array of vegan cakes, and listen in to presentations on topics such as ethical savings and living wills and other matters.

To be hosted by Vegetarian for Life, a non-profit organisation promoting plant-based nutrition and health for older people, the Mature Zone is set to attract a growing number of senior visitors to Vegfest who’re keen to know more about the all-round benefits of a vegan lifestyle such as:

  • minimising the risks of contracting degenerative diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke etc.,
  • reducing global greenhouse gas emissions
  • reducing world hunger for generations to come
  • minimising unnecessary animal suffering.

Says Amanda Woodvine, Director of Vegetarian for Life: "We're thrilled to create something for Vegfest's mature visitors and hope to make the Mature Zones fun and appealing for all. From speed-dating and friendship-making for those in their advanced years, through to how the internet can make your veganism easier, and inspiring reminiscence on what life was like before the advent of the meat- and dairy-free convenience products that we enjoy today. We hope to create something that both long-standing vegans and those new to the movement will enjoy!"

Vegetarian for Life will have a table in the Mature Zones displaying their well-researched booklets on the subject matter of staying healthy on a vegan diet for years to come. They will also host a number of talks by guest speakers on subjects relating to ethical vegan lifestyles for mature visitors. Finally there’ll be an array of refreshments such as coffee, tea and cakes, all 100% vegan, for visitors to the Mature Zone to enjoy.
