Olympia London witnessed a thrilling vegan lifestyle show in VegfestUK London with a record attendance of around 12,000 visitors altogether over the weekend October 10th 11th 2015 with numerous highlights.
Entering its 3rd year at Olympia London as a huge celebration of all things 100% vegan, VegfestUK London had everything from food, shopping and education to entertainment and socialising opportunities.
The globally inspired vegan food from altogether 13 caterers plus a specially prepared vegan menu from in-house Central Kitchen (operated by Levy's Restaurant) was an absolute treat, and they combined nicely with the 200 exhibitors showcasing a range of products and information that are 100% vegan-friendly.
Those looking to delve further into vegan living were well impressed with the high calibre of speakers and films, and the conference facilities available at this year's event which moved from the West Hall to the Central Hall (Levels 1 & 3).
There was a Professionals Vegan Health Summit on Saturday, with the latest evidence-based science on healthier vegan diets provided for doctors, dietitians, nutritionists and midwives by prestigious speakers including Professor Emeritus of Nutrition and Dietetics Tom Sanders from Kings College London.
This was followed by a People’s Vegan Activists Summit on Sunday with the focus firmly on animal rights activism.
In particular, the following hugely anticipated debates were streamed live globally to thousands of viewers overall:
The entertainment was amply provided by two top-notch vegan comedians in Andrew O'Neill and Jake Yapp, plus kids entertainers, musicians, a bodybuilding competition as well as the world's first guitar-playing thinking pig's pig Pig Freud who launched his crowdfunder in support of regional grassroots vegan outreach project in style:
Pig Freud's performance alongside the aforementioned duo of debates was streamed live for the very first time at a VegfestUK event – you can watch the recorded video right here:
The event was a fantastic hub for like-minded people to get together especially with a Teen VGN Zone for teenagers looking for vegan inspirations, as well as a Mature Zone for those in their advanced years.
