The FxEctive Factor entrants and presentations - Activism

| by Editor

Big welcome to all our entrants of the Activism section of the FxEctive Factor on Saturday February 27th 2016 at VegfestUK Brighton.

This inaugural competition showcases various forms of creative peaceful vegan education in front of everyone wishing to learn more about effective vegan advocacy in their communities.

Here’s the final lineup of entrants and what their presentations will be about:

2:00 - 2:15 - Caitlin Galer-Unti - Another World is Possible

Through writing about vegan travel, I show vegans around the world that we are part of a growing global movement and that no matter where in the world you are right now, and no matter where you go, you can find vegan food (and even connect with other vegans).

2:15 - 2:30 - Elizabeth Novakovic (Vegorium) - Producers of vegan T-shirts

Vegan t-shirts are a non-intrusive, emotionally detached form of activism, it is the viewer’s choice to read the message or not and as they will most likely be strangers they have no personal connection, therefore the only thing that will resonate with them is the message on the t-shirt. Vegorium provides a different range of vegan message t-shirts, some stronger, some mild, this mix is essential for the vegan message as we know people respond differently to the varying messages. Continual exposure to the vegan message will chip away at the social conditioning which has people living as omnivores. It’s amazing to see the amount of looks you get when a simple ‘Vegan’ t-shirt is worn, the misconception of vegans is so instilled in people that just seeing a vegan is a novel experience to some!

2:30 - 2:45 - Ruth Hawe (Vegantopia) - Co-creating the Vegantopia of our ideals into being

Giving energy and focus to the kind world we wish to birth into being is as vital as campaigning against cruelty. People need reassurance and inspiration for change from us, and we must ground and intend our visions to manifest them. Holding transformative vibrational concepts also prevents depression and activist burnout.

2:45 - 3:00 - Dean Bracher - The Vegan Society school speaker

A vegan education campaigner for 8 years with numerous avenues of educational knowledge and a passion to inspire others about veganism and general rights. It's my life goal to bring about a better world than I found and do this through vegan education and work with those that share my goals and have an interest in rights and there positive use in society.

3:00 - 3:15 - Aisha Eveleigh (Food for Thoughts Ceramics) - Vegan ceramics producer

Aisha from Food For Thought Ceramics strives to reveal the untold truth regarding animal agriculture using powerful hard-hitting artwork.

The more people are aware of the affects of animal agriculture, the closer we are to becoming a more conscious engaged society whose actions benefit the environment, the animals as well as human health.

3:15 - 3:30 - Robb Masters (London Vegan Meetup) - Social activity as activism

London Vegan Meetup is believed to be the largest vegan social group in the world, and has become a valuable community for local vegans. But is it effective vegan activism too? Who does it help to go (or stay) vegan? And what else can it do to further the vegan message?

3:30 - 3:45 - Vegan Geezer - Vegan Youtuber - Spreading veganism through making Youtube videos

Is your passion for veganism too strong to contain? Do you find your persistent voice for veganism isn't being heard? With YouTube you can be heard. You carry the most important message of veganism, if you have the voice to share it, what are you waiting for?
