Sunday May 15th 2016 saw Tim Barford from VegfestUK interviewed by Charles Banda on Ujima Radio’s Good Food Show, and later on in the evening Tim appeared on Ngunan Adamu’s Upfront programme on BBC Radio Merseyside.
Tim asked both presenters to go vegan for 30 days to experience the many benefits of the vegan lifestyle, philosophy and diet. He was thrilled to see both accepting the challenge of pledging to go vegan for at least 30 days.
Charles Banda’s Good Food Show goes out every Sunday on Ujima radio, a community station which has a diverse and multicultural listenership in Bristol, and he was very enthusiastic about Tim’s information regarding the benefits of the vegan diet especially, and shook hands with Tim live on air to agree to try out veganism shortly and even dropped a Macka B tune live on radio in celebration.
Ngunan Adamu, originally from Nigeria, presents the Upfront programme on BBC Radio Merseyside which brings music and interviews to Merseyside’s thriving black communities every Sunday. Ngunan was also very enthusiastic about the information that Tim provided regarding the vegan way of life, and likewise pledged to go vegan for 30 days.
Tim added, “It’s thrilling to get out and about and touch base with so many wonderful people and vibrant cultures and backgrounds through the medium of community radio shows and the BBC. To have both Ngunan and Charles pledge to go vegan whilst presenting radio shows is really excellent news – it gives a chance to provide role models and healthy, environment-friendly and ethically sound lifestyle choices to a diverse range of people. Veganism encompasses a justice-for-all approach and it’s very important to make sure that the vegan message is spread far and wide if we are to be truly effective advocates for what is fast becoming the biggest growing social justice movement on the planet.”
