VEGFESTUK AWARDS 2016 updates (up to Aug 14th 2016)

VEGFESTUK AWARDS 2016 updates (up to Aug 14th 2016)

2016-08-16
| by Editor | Posted in Awards

Many thanks to everyone who cast their votes on their favourites in the VegfestUK Awards 2016, which celebrate the best of veganism in altogether 16 categories with 10 nominees each.

An average of around 1,000 votes have been cast in each category, and there are some interesting battles in certain categories.

The Best Vegan “Cheese” section has attracted a huge amount of votes, and is very close right now – with only a dozen votes or so between Tyne Chease, Bute Island Foods and Raw Food Rosies, amongst other close calls...

The hotly contested Best Vegan Bakery / Raw Cakes section sees some great starts by the likes of Vegan Sweet Tooth London and Hannah Banana Bakery – but expect big things from Ms. Cupcake and The Vegan Cakery too, as well as newcomers Elspeth’s Kitchen...

There’s plenty of fierce competition in the Best Vegan Athlete section with a number of top-notch vegan athletes such as Fiona Oakes, David Haye, Peter Ebdon and others vying for the trophy… expect plenty of changes in the coming weeks as the likes of David Smith MBE, Pat Reeves, Christine Vardaros, Robert Cheeke, Patrik Baboumian and Dean Howell continue to showcase to the world the benefits of veganism in their chosen sports...

One of the most fiercely contested categories so far is the Best Vegan Clothing category with a number of independents slogging it out for top place, including Viva La Vegan, All Glamour No Guts, Ethics and Antics, Chiaralascura and Wear Your Voice amongst others. With the sheer variety and quality of vegan clothing amongst our nominees, there are set to be plenty of alterations in the occupant for top place in the coming weeks...

A fantastic advert for dining out vegan in this category with some standout candidates in the voting so far, including V Revolution, 222 Veggie Vegan, El Piano and Rootcandi, with 6 other vegan eateries not far behind...

The most competitive category so far is certainly the Best Vegan Caterer category with every nominee within touching distance of top spot so far!

There are plenty of quality candidates in every category too and they would all love your support with your vote!

Voting closes at midnight sharp on September 30th 2016. The results will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at VegfestUK London – taking place on Saturday October 22nd 2016 (time TBA), with trophies presented by Karin Ridgers of VeggieVision TV alongside John Robb (of Goldblade and The Membranes).

The next update on the awards will be released on the week commencing Monday August 29th 2016.
