Northern Vegan Festival is back at Sacha's Hotel Manchester on October 15th 2016

Northern Vegan Festival is back at Sacha's Hotel Manchester on October 15th 2016

| by Editor | Posted in Vlog

One of the biggest and best vegan festivals in the North, the Northern Vegan Festival, is back this Autumn on Saturday October 15th 2016 and it’s once again spread across 7 venues in Manchester with even more space than ever before for a packed programme of activities!

With a successful previous event at the same venues in April 2016 attracting altogether over 4,000 people, the Autumn edition is shaping up to be another blinder with altogether 193 stalls including 15 delicious caterers, plus 2 vegan cafes, all day Viva! cookery demos and talks, campaigns, lots of other amazing talks, children's activities, a big free food fair and much more! Make sure to mark the date in your diary and join the amazing vegan celebration!

Sumptuous vegan food awaits...

Expect an absolute feast of delicious, good-looking vegan food for everyone – whether it’s vegan junk food, cakes, hot dogs, pizzas, Mexican, pies, or anything else, there is a vegan version for you at the festival! (best thing to do is not to eat beforehand!)

Shopaholics can look forward to a dazzling array of vegan goodies, ranging from T-shirts, candles, bodycare, skincare, cosmetics, to some lovely ingredients for your vegan cooking after the event, such as vegan meats, cheeses, and much more!

Educational talks and cookery demos

After all the eating and drinking, you can learn about the various aspects of the vegan philosophy at the numerous talks and cookery demos.

One of Europe’s biggest and most successful vegan outreach and animal advocacy groups Viva! are hosting a number of these sessions, with their excellent team providing plenty of useful and practical information on health, nutrition and their latest campaign work.

In addition, there will be a number of live performances and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day. Full list of entertainment TBA here

Video summary of previous Northern Vegan Festivals

To get a taster of what the festival will be like, have a quick watch of these videos from previous Northern Vegan Festivals, kindly put together by a number of vegan vloggers:

Once again the festival will be using Sachas Hotel, Tib Street, Manchester, M4 1SH, where there will be 95 stalls, including a cafe area in the USA Suite on the ground floor and 20 more stalls upstairs in the Roosevelt and Jefferson Rooms. There will be a small free food fair in the Cromptons Bar downstairs.

Venue 2 is the Methodist Church Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ which is across the road from the back of the USA Suite in Sachas. At this venue there will be 80 stalls in the various rooms on the 1st floor, talks, cookery demos, yoga in the Lounge on the 1st floor,  films in Lincoln 2 on the first floor and Room 21 on the 2nd floor and all day children's activities in Room 22 on the third floor.

Venue 3 is 15 minutes walk away, the Thirsty Scholar vegetarian/vegan pub at 50, New Wakefield Street, Manchester, M1 5NP where there will be a vegan beer, wine and cider festival.

Venue 4 is a 2 minute walk away, the Three Minute Theatre, 35-39 Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JG where all Viva! talks and cookery demos will be held.

Venue 5 is Black Milk Cereal Kult, 2nd floor, 35-39 Oldham St., Manchester M1 1JG where there will be 10% off all of the vegan milk bowls of breakfast cereal. Enter through the Oldham St. entrance next to Sachas Hotel, and the Blackmilk cafe is on the 2nd floor.

Venue 6 is The Wonder Inn vegan organic cafe, music venue, arts centre, and creative wellness centre, 29, Shudehiil, Manchester, M4 2AF where there will be a vegan party with vegan food, alcohol, including Manchester's Vegan Society trademark Marble Brewery's beers, and live music. The Wonder Inn is just a 5 minute walk from Sachas Hotel, almost next door to Shudehiil bus station and tram stop.

Venue 7 - is Friends of the Earth, Green Fish Resource Centre, 46-50, Oldham Street, M4 1LE where we will have green vegan films.

**Also on November 1, Black Milk is turning into a vegan-only cereal cafe, and there will be a launch event for this in the basement of Sachas where they will be giving away samples.**

Please note that all main venues and rooms are fully accessible to people in wheelchairs via lifts.

A map of the surroundings of the Sachas Hotel is below:

The event is open from 10am – 6pm on Saturday October 15th 2016 at each venue with the exception of the Thirsty Scholar where it will run from noon until 3am.
