Fantastic weekend at Vegfest Scotland at the SECC with around 5,200 visitors overall

Fantastic weekend at Vegfest Scotland at the SECC with around 5,200 visitors overall

2016-12-05
| by Editor

This year’s Vegfest Scotland drew to an amazing conclusion on Sunday December 4th 2016 at the SECC, with altogether around 5,200 visitors plus approximately 800 people working at the event, giving rise to one of Europe’s biggest vegan festivals over the whole weekend December 3rd 4th 2016.

Particularly impressive was the media coverage for this event, with all the mainstream media outlets promoting the event, including the Scottish Sun, Sunday Record, Herald Scotland, BBC Radio Scotland and STV plus a number of other local media station outlets featuring the event.

As the demand for vegan products and information on vegan lifestyles continue to grow, the Vegfest Scotland organisers are delighted to see such enthusiasm for their 2nd event in Scotland.

The Vegfest Scotland organisers added, “It’s wonderful to see this great event coming together so nicely with our visitors clearly enjoying an awesome day out with the best of everything vegan. This demonstrates a real hunger and thirst for vegan lifestyles in Scotland and beyond, which is brilliant to see for all of us who are striving to make veganism as widespread as possible in our communities.”

The event had something for everyone, from food and shopping, to information, entertainment and networking opportunities.

The event is sponsored by: Bute Island Foods, Koko Dairy Free, The Flying Duck, Mono Cafe Bar, VeggieVision and Yaoh.

The organisers of Vegfest Scotland also run annual events in Brighton, Bristol and London and the dates for these events in 2017 are as follows:

VegfestUK Brighton – March 11th 12th 2017 at Brighton Centre, www.brighton.vegfest.co.uk

VegfestUK Bristol – May 19th 20th 21st 2017 at Amphitheatre, www.bristol.vegfest.co.uk

VegfestUK London – October 21st 22nd 2017 at Olympia London, website live from March 2017

The Vegfest organisers are also hosting the UK’s first dedicated vegan trade show at Olympia London on Friday October 20th 2017 with the aim of helping independent vegan businesses attract buyers and media coverage, as well as bringing to the fore all the amazing vegan produce in front of a large crowd of buyers and members of the media. Website live from March 2017.
