Saturday 12:00 – Joss Morgan-Giles
Joss is a unique singer songwriter having honed his art over the past year and a half, with influences such as Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Neil Young and Ben Howard.
His music is based on the folky acoustic sound developed through his busking. His natural ability to connect with his listeners brings him forward as a professional.
Saturday 1:00 – Sam Whitlock
Sam Whitlock is a singer/songwriter from Bristol UK. His songs are a mix of Americana, Folk and Contemporary Music. He performs live gigs both as a solo act and as front man of The Montgomerys. He is currently working on his debut EP which is planned for release later in 2016.
Saturday 2:00 – Polly Rorison
Polly has lived her whole life in Bristol; living and breathing the amazing culture and music. She has performed at many of the brilliant venues and festivals Bristol has to offer. She would describe her ‘sound’ as being sweet and melancholic acoustic soul, mixed with upbeat happy ukulele jams and interesting loop pedal interludes. She also loves to dabble in ‘re-writing’ classic songs such as Mamma Mia, Billie Jean, Careless Whisper etc. and really making them her own.
Saturday 3:00 – Tarantism Acoustic
Tarantism pare down their big festival sound to an acoustic duo but still produce a big sound to make you dance! Expect a set of their own songs heard at many festivals around Europe, mixed in with some of their favourite punk and folk songs and even some folkdisco!
Saturday 4:00 – Elea Calvet
Elea's throaty soulful vocals and intense lyrics bring raw energy to her gritty blues-rock enhanced by an individualistic delivery.
Full of attitude and verve, her urban grungy blues and soulful lyrics will draw you into her private world.
Saturday 5:00 – Jack Cookson
Jack Cookson is a multiinstrumentalist and an exciting, young and talented singer-songwriter. His finger style guitar playing is top class, and he combines this with skilful harmonica and great vocals. In 2015 he released his self-produced and predominantly self-performed album entitled “Revolt & Resolve”, while performing over 100 gigs all round the Midlands and south west UK, both headline and support. He has shared the stage with the likes of Franz Nicolay (Against Me!/ The Hold Steady), Cory Branan and Austin Lucas.
Saturday 6:00 – 8:00 – Maxquerade
Playing for events such as Magna Carta, Apex, Switch, Troupe & Simple. Max moved to Ibiza and in the hugely competitive environment, landed sets at Sankeys, Es Vive and Space no less. Now settled in Bristol he’s definitely a name to watch out for in 2016.
Saturday 8:00 - 11:00 – Hywel Gregory B2B Flux
Over the last 5 years this duo have firmly asserted themselves in Bristol's rapidly evolving nightlife scene. Residents at one the city's biggest club nights Apex, the pair mix an eclectic blend of house, techno and bass tailored to meet the needs of any dance floor.
Sunday 11:00 – Robert Jackson
A soulful folk singer, harmonica player and guitarist, Robert Jackson sings songs of his life and travels from Bristol to San Francisco and all the long roads in between. His distinctive voice, vibrato harmonica and driving acoustic guitar combine with raw and cultured songwriting of adventure, bitter romance and synchronicity.
Sunday 12:00 - Howlin' Lord
There’s a breed of artists and musicians who express truth in their art, sounds and perhaps their lives. Artists you can feel life’s pain, love, concern, passing fancies, mess-ups and become part of the atmospheres in which these toil. Howlin’ Lord is one of these souls. After what is probably his most accomplished work 2011’s Gold Fury and then the surreal and gut smashing grit of last year’s bare-bones Breakfast of Champions, it would seem that H’L would need to cool down. Not this purveyor of hearty and persuasive noir honky tonk.
Sunday 1:00 - Just Flynn
FLYNN is an up and coming artist From Ireland. FLYNN is now working on his music in London and Bristol continuously traveling from city to city, working hard to reach a larger audience.
Sunday 2:00 - Ross Mayhew
Ross, a vegan singer/songwriter from South Devon began his musical journey in late 2011 and has released over 150 songs that speak of love, peace and freedom. He is hugely inspired by the works of Bob Dylan, Donovan, Oasis and John Lennon and seeks to spread a message of love of compassion through his music.
Sunday 3:00 - Andy Twyman
When Andy released the first ever naked Christmas music video it hit the national headlines, leading The Mirror newspaper to ask “Is this the best Christmas music video ever?” With the topics of his songs ranging from chickens to Luxembourg via Pot Noodle, 24 year old Andy Twyman blends blues with humour and rock and roll to titillate your ears, mind and toes. Having performed on BBC Three and Channel 4, Andy’s reputation is growing as a highly original and entertaining act.
Sunday 4:00 - Lauren Tufnell
A new and upcoming non-binary vegan folk musician. The topic of their songs are usually animal rights, feminism, travelling, and sometimes even cats! They do improvisation at all of their gigs, where they take inspiration from the audience and make a song on the chosen topics that the audience wanted! They’re currently working on an album that will be out by June/July 2016 and is playing at Ely Folk Festival, Kaos Skola vegan Festival in Sweden, and hopefully at an animal sanctuary festival all in July!
Sunday 5:00 - Pig Freud
Pig Freud is the world's first guitar-playing pig, who is using his talents in music to shift the paradigm away from animals being viewed as property, to encourage people to go vegan to stop animal exploitation, and to inspire activists to do their own vegan education.
Pig Freud went on an Autumn Tour at altogether 5 UK Vegan Festivals in 2015, and he’s preparing hard for an exciting year ahead, an integral part of which is to raise funds for a vegan billboard campaign in Bristol in May, just before VegfestUK comes to town.
