Tim Barford, manager of VegfestUK, spoke with BBC Radio Jersey presenter Tony Gillham earlier this morning about being vegan, the underlying philosophy and the upcoming VegfestUK Bristol event.
Tim will expand further on the vegan philosophy and promoting veganism, in a couple of workshops at VegfestUK Bristol, which takes place on May 21st 22nd at the Amphitheatre on the Harbourside.
PR and promotion of vegan campaigns
Tim looks at the importance of promoting vegan activism and how best to do it....including an examination of the effectiveness of professional PR campaigns, advertising, blogging and social media. With 14 years experience of promoting vegan events, and 25 years of promoting the use of hemp, Tim's talk is geared towards grassroots vegan activists and especially those planning vegan events

The importance of rights in a social justice movement
Rights of animals is an area often overlooked by vegan campaigners, and especially those within the main National groups. Tim talks about effective ways to incorporate a rights and justice message into vegan campaigning, and examines the importance of this issue within a social justice context. Suitable for both National and Grassroots vegan outreach groups and individuals, and currently often missed off the agenda.
