Amazing chefs to demonstrate how to bring vegan ingredients alive at VegfestUK Brighton

Amazing chefs to demonstrate how to bring vegan ingredients alive at VegfestUK Brighton

| by Editor

A number of talented chefs will be demonstrating how to get the best out of everyday vegan ingredients and put together some amazing vegan dishes to impress any vegan doubters, in nearly a dozen cookery demos at the upcoming VegfestUK Brighton on March 11th 12th 2017 at the Brighton Centre.

These cookery demos cover a wide range of techniques and are geared towards different settings – whether you’re a beginner to veganism looking for a quick and easy dish, or you’re seeking elaborate dishes to entertain your guests, or you’re just looking for something to give you that health kick, there’s something to gain in the Cookery Demos section at VegfestUK Brighton.

First gracing the cookery stage is one of Vegetarian for Life’s roving chefs Oliver Bragg, who will be serving up an eagerly anticipated creamy polenta with mushrooms and truffle oil – vegan of course.

Next up is VegfestUK regular and Shambhu’s founder Nishma Shah. Nishma will show you how various spices achieve that exotic vibrancy of flavours, aromas and colours, and indicate their many healing qualities. Nishma will be demonstrating a protein-rich, spice-enhanced, main dish in this session.

If you’re struggling to find what to put in a vegan lunchbox, the cooking demo by vegan chef and author Kirly-Sue is for you. This will include great ideas for children and for adults too. Come along and learn what hot and cold options you can put in your vegan lunchbox.

Matty Bowling, operations director at acclaimed 1847 Vegetarian Restaurant Group, will demonstrate how to get the best out of our noodles on our plates. Matty used to be head chef at award-winning vegetarian restaurant Terre a Terre and he now oversees 1847’s four sites and develops their menus.

And Tom from Green Rabbit Kitchen will showcase how to make easy, simply vegan gastro food in houses and how to mix some unusual ingredients together, and what ingredients work together.

For plenty of people, cheese is the hardest food to give up whilst going vegan. Definitely not to be missed is a vegan cheese demonstration from up-and-coming vegan fromagerie Mel Rogers from Mel’s Kindness Kitchen. The simple recipes that Mel has developed are easy to make and adaptable for family cooking, using affordable ingredients that are easy to find, the methods she demonstrates will give you the skills and knowledge to experiment with your favourite flavours and to create vegan cheese in your own kitchen.

If you’re looking for recipes to impress, check out the mini-delights served up by Adrian Smith head chef of Vegan Peasant Catering, who will be veganising canapes that will light up many parties for sure.

If you’re a workaholic or you just can’t be bothered with elaborate food-making, Vegan Chef Day Radley, who has perfected the art of creating nutritious food in a flash, looks forward to showing you how to hack your way to healthy eating with some mind-blowingly simple, delicious and healthy dishes.

For dishes that can be whipped up in minutes, look no further than vegan cookbook author Ellie Bedford’s demonstration in which she’ll turn a classic Polish sauerkraut salad into a crisp samosa, with no fiddly pasty, and make savoury chickpea waffles that can be topped with anything from guacamole to spicy pickles, and even baked beans.

For those aiming to start everyday in tip-top condition and full of energy, Rosie Purdye from Raw Food Rosie has in store some simple Ayurvedic recipes and practices to kick start a sluggish digestion, aid internal balance, digestion and overall health and wellbeing.

And finally, vegan Youtuber Brianna Jackfruitson, with a popular and heavily followed Youtube channel packed full of her favourite vegan recipes, will entertain our visitors with some of her insights into vegan cooking, with her menu soon to be confirmed...
