The Bristol ‘Pig Bus’ story – talkRADIO’s Michael Graham discusses morality & choice with VegfestUK’s Tim Barford

The Bristol ‘Pig Bus’ story – talkRADIO’s Michael Graham discusses morality & choice with VegfestUK’s Tim Barford

2018-07-22
| by Editor | Posted in Radio

VegfestUK manager Tim Barford was invited onto Michael Graham's radio show on talkRADIO on Saturday evening July 21st 2018, to discuss the morality behind using animals for food, in the wake of vegan protests in front of a “Become a Pork Lover” bus which claimed to be selling 100% European pork in Broadmead, Bristol, earlier during the week.

Whilst Michael was of the opinion that everyone should be allowed to eat whatever they want and respect each other’s lifestyle choices, and that animals naturally eat each other to survive and evolve, Tim suggested that human beings who, unlike other animals, do not need to eat animals to thrive and who have the conscious capability to avoid killing animals, should avoid doing so.

Despite being interrupted several times during the interview, Tim remained calm and collected in his analysis of the ethical issues behind the production of pork and other animal-based food products, whilst staying firmly rooted to the vegan philosophy of non-violence and justice for all living beings.

You can listen to the entire interview below (or at the link here):

“Huge respect to the dedicated vegans who got out to the bus to speak up for the pigs”, added Tim. “As a vegan of 34 years, I can’t tell you how thrilling it is to see so many people take to the streets these days to stand up for animals and make a stand against the oppression, captivity and senseless slaughter of so many billions of sentient beings every year. Thankyou vegan activists for making this story in the first place and once more putting veganism into the mainstream picture as a viable alternative to the current status quo.”
