Renowned ecofeminist and animal rights author Carol J. Adams to speak at VegfestUK London 2018

Brilliant news for visitors to this year’s VegfestUK London event as US writer, feminist, and animal rights advocate Carol J. Adams is confirmed as one of the keynote speakers at this huge vegan event in October.

Carol is the author of a number of influential publications and has spoken at a large number of high-profile events on veganism, animal rights and feminism, and the organisers of VegfestUK London are delighted to welcome her on board.

Carol will be speaking on the Saturday October 27th 2018 with details of her talks to be confirmed shortly. A book signing will be occur on that day as well.

 

More about Carol J. Adams

Carol J. Adams, is the author of The Sexual Politics of Meat, now in a 25th anniversary edition, Burger, just released in Bloomsbury’s Object Lessons Series, Even Vegans Die: A Practical Guide to Caregiving, Acceptance, and Protecting Your Legacy of Acceptance, and the forthcoming Protest Kitchen: Fight Injustice, Save the Planet, and Fuel Your Resistance One Meal at a Time. Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Ms. Magazine, The Christian Century, Tikkun, and Truthdig, among others. She has been an activist against domestic violence, racism, and homelessness, and for reproductive justice and fair housing practices. She pioneered work discussing and addressing domestic violence and harm to animals. She is the co-editor of several anthologies, most recently Ecofeminism: Feminist Intersections with Other Animals and the Earth (with Lori Gruen). The Carol J. Adams Reader: Writings and Conversations 1995-2015 appeared in 2016. She is a popular speaker on college campuses and as a keynoter at international conferences. Her writings are the subject of two anthologies, Defiant Daughters: 21 Women of Art, Activism, Animals, and The Sexual Politics of Meat and The Art of the Animal: 14 Women Artists Explore The Sexual Politics of Meat, in which a new generation of feminists, artists, and activists respond to Adams' groundbreaking work. She lives in Dallas with her partner and two rescued dogs.
