Vegan Activists Hub at VegfestUK Brighton showcases a variety of practical animal advocacy

Vegan Activists Hub at VegfestUK Brighton showcases a variety of practical animal advocacy

| by Editor | Posted in VegfestUK Brighton 2019

On the 23rd and 24th of March, more than 20 animal advocates will descend onto the Brighton Centre’s Vegan Activist Hub. You’ll hear from a range of perspectives, including those who have dedicated their lives to understanding behaviour change to people who are fairly new to the animal rights movement.

You’ll learn about everything from ways we can speak up for our animal cousins in the day-to-day, to worldwide grassroots initiatives carefully designed to help inspire the most change possible. In addition to taking action, there will be ideas shared on how to keep ourselves sustainable.  There will be no shortage of ideas for how we can create a vegan future.

A highlight of the Vegan Activist Hub will be vegan psychologist Dr. Casey Taft. Casey is the primary developer of the first and only programs to end and prevent domestic violence. He’s taken these proven methods and applied them to vegan advocacy. Casey will be discussing communication strategies on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Vegan Activist Hub, and will also be discussing how trauma plays a role in animal advocacy on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the stage area.

There will also be talks both days from FRIEND Farm Animal Sanctuary. For 25 years they have provided sanctuary to our animal cousins as well as activists on the front lines. They will share their lessons learned and talk about why it’s essential that we protect the true ambassadors of the vegan movement, the animals.

Whether it’s confusing fox hunters, saying goodbye to animals outside slaughterhouses, taking our awareness-building to the streets or simply finding ways to incorporate animal advocacy into our day-to-day lives, VegfestUK’s Vegan Activist Hub will have it all.

We know where the animal rights movement has been, we know where we are now.  The question is, where will we go from here?

Come to VegfestUK Brighton on the 23rd and 24th of March to find out!
