Discover the Benefits of Plant-Based Diets for Fitness and Performance at VegfestUK Brighton

Discover the Benefits of Plant-Based Diets for Fitness and Performance at VegfestUK Brighton

2019-03-05
| by Editor | Posted in VegfestUK Brighton 2019

Despite the huge rise of interest in veganism in recent years, there is still a lingering belief that those who follow an exclusively plant-based diet are feeble and uncompetitive in sports. That perspective, however, has increasingly been challenged by a number of leading bodybuilders, wrestlers, marathoners, cyclists and triathletes who have achieved outstanding results whilst shunning meat, dairy, eggs and any other animal-based food products.

The upcoming VegfestUK Brighton vegan festival showcases a number of sportspeople and fitness coaches who follow a 100% plant-based diet themselves whilst excelling in their chosen sports. Visitors can expect a wide range of talks, workshops and panels on subjects such as bodybuilding, cardiovascular exercises and recovery whilst on a plant-based diet, the reasons why plant-based nutrition is optimal for everyone, how plant-based lifestyles can boost your performance and enhance results, optimising your plant-based diet for weight gain or loss, bodybuilding on fruitarian diets, tips and tricks of intermittent fasting for giant results, a panel discussion on the secrets of recovery, with a bodybuilding competition towards the end of the show that is open to everybody with prizes to be won too.

All speakers in the area follow a 100% plant-based diet and are shining examples of highly achieving sportspeople who thrive without animal products in their diet. Speakers on board include:

  • international cyclist Christine Vardaros
  • bodybuilder, personal trainer and Youtuber Hench Herbivore
  • bodybuilder Stephen Coote
  • health and wellness writer, and personal trainer Amy Robson
  • raw fruitarian personal trainer and strength coach Owen Gayle (who is also a national champion in martial arts)
  • Calisthenics expert and trainer Elvis Tadlanek
  • triathlete and high-performance coach Dave Sheahan
  • bodybuilder and personal trainer Nathan Loughton

Whether you are a beginner to the world of plant-based diets, wanting to know more about their benefits to fitness and recovery, whether you’re just looking to get fitter and stronger, or a seasoned pro looking to take your level of performance to the next level and recover faster, there will be something for you in the Fitness area.
