Practical advice on Veganic Growing to be shared by Vegan Organic Network at VegfestUK London 2019

Practical advice on Veganic Growing to be shared by Vegan Organic Network at VegfestUK London 2019

2019-08-06
| by Vegan Organic Network | Posted in VegfestUK London 2019

At VegfestUK London 2019 in October, the Vegan Organic Network are again organising the veganic speakers area. We’ll be having talks on agroecology; permaculture; home growing and community living, providing practical advice on creating abundance while working with nature. There’ll be veganic veg, chocolate and other produce from Shumei, and a comprehensive range of books and information available on the VON stall.

Veganic growing gives us a vision of how we can live. It requires a fraction of the land currently used by animal agriculture, and by growing veganically, we can eat healthy organic foods, without exploitation of animals, whilst rebalancing and restoring natural ecosystems. Rivers can run clean, life in the oceans when left alone will regenerate, and the soil can become a naturally fertile ecosystem.

Speakers

Jo Kidd: Will be speaking about “Vegan Organics Kent, the story of an emerging veganic agroforestry project and farm in East Kent.”

Cleve West: Who has won a total of nine RHS Gold Medals (six at the Chelsea Flower Show) and three awards for innovative garden design.

Ellen Mary: Horticultural radio show host, TV presenter, writer and of course vegan, will discuss the benefits that nature provides to our wellbeing.

Iain Tolhurst: Has been at the forefront of the UK organic farming movement for over 40 years.

Graham Burnett: An activist for social and environmental justice since leaving school in the late 1970s, Graham Burnett has taught permaculture workshops and courses for over 20 years.

Shinya Imahashi: Will talk about the basic principles of Shumei Natural agriculture, how he grows vegetables organically without adding any animal manures, combined with seed saving and continuous cropping systems.

Matthew Appleby: author of Super Organic Gardener Everything You Need to Know About a Vegan Garden (Pen & Sword 2019) and will be speaking about the impact the book has made nationally on vegan gardening.

Paul Smorthit: Discover how to be a daily leader of 'Actionism' with 20 easy swaps and tasks using solution based thinking.

Tamara Șchiopu: Let us talk about our food choices for convenience, for beliefs and for the Earth!
